Even assuming that we get AI good enough to run a company by that time, it's not about intelligence, but accountability. There's someone who can be sent to jail if a company is run by people.

If AI system could own a company, it would be very easy to make an agent that runs a very successful fraud scheme and doesn't care about being shut down afterwards.

It's the same problem we have with self driving cars - even if they get in less accidents compared to human drivers, you need someone to take responsibility for the accidents that do occur.
