For years, Google has paid Apple large sums of money to be the default search engine on Safari on iOS and Mac. Recently however, a US federal judge ruled that this was a violation of antitrust law. This decision is likely to be appealed.

What search engine will be the default on Safari on iOS in iOS 19, due to be released in Fall 2025?

Notes:

Beta releases of iOS 19 do not count, it has to be the default setting on a new iPhone sold in the US that comes with iOS 19. If the iPhone OS version is named something else, it will be whatever version is most comparable to iOS 19.
This refers to the version used in the US; specifically in Cupertino, California, if relevant.
If Apple announces this at WWDC 2025 or some other event, as long as it will come by iOS 19, this market can resolve early.
