Each option resolves "yes" if the song makes it into either move or "no" if the song doesn't make it into either movie.
My plan for how to handle changes to songs or shortened versions of songs is roughly that for anything with more than 50% of the original song in either movie, I will resolve YES, and anything which gets less than a verse will resolve NO, with shortened or heavily edited songs getting resolved to 2*percentage of original song in movie (so that if a quarter of a song is in a movie, it would resolve to 50%). Help figuring out exactly how to operationalize that would be appreciated.
Be warned that I may change my resolution method if I'm convinced it fails in some edge case.
In the case where they turn the plot of Wicked into more than two parts, this includes all parts. In the case where they adapt another Maguire or Baum novel, and use unused material from the musical, that does not count.
@lalaithion the movie is out, so all the part 1 songs can resolve https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicked:_The_Soundtrack
@lalaithion not sure if the soundtrack is enough for resolution (totally fair to wait until the movie is out) but the soundtrack is up. https://variety.com/2024/film/news/wicked-the-soundtrack-release-date-1236172330/
looks like no act 1 songs cut (but nothing original either). (I thought we heard before no defying gravity in part 1? maybe they changed their mind)
