Exclusive: OpenAI researchers warned board of AI breakthrough ahead of CEO outster -sources

I seem to recall there was a podcast with, or blog post by Helen Toner, in the past month or two in which she apparently said there was no such letter.

I didn't read the blog posts or listen to the podcasts, but saw someone claiming this - probably on X. It's also possible I'm totally misremembering.

Without actually listening to a bunch of podcasts, I'm not quickly able to find the source. If my memory is not a false one and anyone knows the source off the top of their head, perhaps they could link it.

Anyone got any ideas on how to resolve this?

I came around to thinking this seems decently likely. they probably got some good early results that hinted at the possibility of a pretty big improvement in math and coding ability and the board received info about that, basically. that affecting their interactions slightly but not in a transparent, clear way also seems likely. but ultimately we probably won't hear more than this for a while
