close date is provisional
won't trade on options regarding my opinions/subjective judgements
"never"/"after the last episode"/"after the series ends"/all options without a specified time/episode bound = after the show is canceled/finishes or is long enough in development hell that i think it's >92% likely to never come back
@Robincvgr Update on thoughts: Still not sold on it, but I'm a bit more cautiously optimistic as I read more about who's involved
@PlasmaBallin I wouldn't be surprised if they discard details like this, but they seem to be sticking to era-appropriate technology (John has a flip phone, Sburb is on a disc) so hopefully they still specify the date
@Robincvgr I do wonder what they'll do with Pesterchum though. AIM was already past its peak in 2009 and I don't know how well a parody of it will work with modern audiences
I imagine they keep Pesterchum but focus on voice communication and make it kind of a TeamSpeak/Mumble/Skype/Discord parody
@Robincvgr Based on the trailer, I assume they will change it to a video calling app. I think it has less to do with the parody no longer being relevant and more to do with the fact that you can't portray a text-based conversation well in video format. That was always something that would have to change in any TV adaptation of Homestuck.
@PlasmaBallin I interpeted it as an ambiguous medium just being depicted as video and speech for audience convenience
Like I don't think John's flip phone is literally making video calls
@PlasmaBallin if she does half the stuff she does in the webcomic i think this is very likely to resolve yes
@Robincvgr Yeah, I arbed this with the option for all beta trolls appearing because this one is basically equivalent to, "Veiska makes an appearance at some point."
