I'm currently on path to be a senior associate at McKinsey by end of year 2024. I will probably have the option to do a secondment in 2025.

It's so fun watch the trades and counter-trades here. And then knowing what I know, I question what the people trading in the direction of information I know know about what I know. And then I also question what do they also know that I don't know

[duplicate]

A few questions:

  • Are you really talented/skilled at your current career path?

  • Do you really enjoy your current career path?

  • Do you feel your current career path does the optimum good for others, including via earning to give?

  • Does your current career path maximise opportunities for gooning? /s

1) I'm talented in a way that makes senior people (partner and associate partners) like working with me because I can problem solve and fill in the gaps and have agency in shaping a solution, but Mid-level people (especially Germans) dislike me because I don't operate in a compatible way to their style, which I consider less efficient. I'm also bad at being in a mere mundane execution role.

2) there are pros and cons. I like the opportunities it brings and some of the people I work with but dislike corporate cultrue and having to interact with slow and bureaucratic people.

3) it's a good candidate but not optimum for my potential. I need to be in an innovative role to bring about new technologies (in broader sense) to humanity

Since this is a dependent market that can only resolve to one option, how would it resolve if you consulted at another startup? That is, matching both Consulting at other firms and Employed for a start up?

@Schneefackel other firm here only applies to consultancies. They tend to not be startups. If it is a startup then resolves to employed by startup.
