Both Justin Trudeau and Donald Trump are facing difficult election campaigns. Will both triumph in their country's respective elections?

This question resolves to YES if:

1) Donald Trump holds the office of President of the United States, and;

2) Justin Trudeau holds the office of Prime Minister of Canada, and;

3) The next Canadian federal election has passed (due before Oct. 20, 2025), and;

4) Justin Trudeau's government has survived a confidence vote in the House of Commons after said election, if such a vote occurs, and;

5) The above events have transpired before 12:01 AM on Jan. 1, 2026.

what if there isn't a confidence vote?

what if the election has passed but the terms of the incoming election winners hasn't started yet?

@Tripping It is technically true that a confidence vote is not a strict requirement for a government to continue in office. However, as stated in item 4), this question only resolves to YES if JTโ€™s government survives a confidence vote after the election, meaning that if JTโ€™s government loses such a vote, then the question will resolve to NO regardless of whether a new government is instituted or whether a new election has been called. In the event that JT is still in office by the closing date but no confidence vote has been called, then in the spirit of the question I will resolve to YES.
