I plan to use Box Office Mojo’s data as a source, unless there will be anything extraordinary like an especially successful Chinese movie, which, as I understand, BOM might not track. In such case, another mainstream well-respected source might be used.
Will be resolved on 1 April 2026, to let the films released in late 2025 collect its revenues.

3.00Any movie released in 2025, according to the list they make each year (there isn’t one for 2025 yet, of course), if I understand everything correctly. I kind of think that this is…a much more common way of deciding year’s top performers in cinema, than according to a calendar year income?
Great! Agreed that’s the better approach. Just wanted to confirm the link because for e.g. domestic BOM often defaults to calendar gross (example) while displaying both options. At a glance for WW It looks like BOM might diverge and display only total gross for those released in the year, unlike domestic, so maybe there was no chance for confusion anyways and this was an unnecessary clarification
