This question won't be affected by different team names.

Edit: The question will be resolved in no, if they merge for the 2024 season. The spirit of the question is if they merge, when they'll do it.

Bought a little Yes. The SOQ license in the 3rd year of the WT cycle will presumably be very valuable to any PT who wants to make the jump.

@Eliza This doesn't have to result in a Visma LaB - Soudal merge. I think Visma LaB is set up for the next seasons. There are plenty other teams to merge. Or they just sell the whole team to NEOM....

@Lion Here is a SQS Mega Market for their future:

One of the tricks going on here is that Jumbo is apparently getting a huge increase from PON group, which is a direct competitor to the Specialized/Remco package.

It kind of seems like this agreement permanently puts Remco out of the picture. Or at least for the next few years.

But I still would not be surprised at all if SOQ want to quit out after 2024 when they are allowed to sell/transfer their license. If so, news should start much earlier in the year than this year's cycle did.

@Eliza My thoughts on this one.

The deal between PON and the team is a multiple years deal.

SQ has been linked with multiple other merge rumors with other teams (i. e. Ineos, Movistar).

There is still Neom (which is heavily buying into multiple other sports right now) which was interested in buying/sponsoring JV and probably are still looking for a good opportunity.

I will use the criteria created by @Eliza in the comments of the following question to resolve this question. If you do not agree with them, you will be able to discuss these under his question. (That's why I won't copy them.) If the question for 2024

resolves to yes, this question will be resolved to no, otherwise it will stay open.
