I check BBC News and New Statesman to determine whether any implemented civilisational risk monitoring programme has been implemented. I define civilisational risk as biorisk, AI risk, or any technological risk which Bostrom might plausibly describe as having a "black ball" risk of civilisational collapse.
AND
Civil-liberties advocacy groups or broadsheet newspapers express strong views that this policy would constitute a 'mass surveillance' program, comparable in scale and invasiveness to mass metadata surveillance programmes implemented through the 2000s and 2010s.
