The civilian deaths in Gaza were an obvious foreseeable result of Hamas's attack on Israeli; hence they deliberately chose to let their own civilians be killed. Israel does bear some responsibility for the deaths in Gaza (e.g. indiscriminate attacks, attacks based on faulty intel, a desire for revenge), but it was Hamas, not Israel, who deliberately chose to start this by killing civilians, so the lion's share of the blame is on them (which is certainly more than this poll calls for which is 51%+).
